The Beauty and Elegance of Tulips

Variegated Pink and White Tulips -

The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him. ~ quote by Auguste Rodin

A Tulip Garden
by Amy Lowell

Guarded within the old red wall’s embrace,
Marshalled like soldiers in gay company,
The tulips stand arrayed. Here infantry
Wheels out into the sunlight. What bold grace
Sets off their tunics, white with crimson lace!
Here are platoons of gold-frocked cavalry,
With scarlet sabres tossing in the eye
Of purple batteries, every gun in place.
Forward they come, with flaunting colours spread,
With torches burning, stepping out in time
To some quick, unheard march. Our ears are dead,
We cannot catch the tune. In pantomime
Parades that army. With our utmost powers
We hear the wind stream through a bed of flowers.

White Tulips Blooming -

A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower. ~ quote by Marianne Williamson

Thank you cocomino. It’s so nice to hear from you again. I hope you and your family are healthy and happy. ‘Life in Kawagoe’ is looking beautiful… as always :-)

Theresa, your tulips are delicately vivid fresh blasts of spring air! Amy Lowell’s description of “purple batteries, every gun in place…” Your photos, her words = a grand combination!

Thank you very much Marylin. I hope that Colorado has warmed up enough for the spring flowers to bloom. Viewing photographs of flowers just isn’t as nice as getting outside to experience the real thing… unless you’re allergic to pollen :-)

How beautiful these photos are Theresa, I’m staggered at how gorgeous this post is! I’ve linked to you in my flower post, about to go live, because your talent needs to be shared… :-)
